The Abloy electric motor mortise locks are used in doors where a need is present for:
- Convenience (push / pull function)
- Security (no external handle)
- Durability (high traffic doors).

These Abloy locks are recommended to be used in exterior and interior doors of commercial premises, public buildings, hospitals, educational institutions, shopping centres and sports stadiums.
Most typically you can meet them in entrance doors, section doors, gangway doors, high traffic fire rated and acces controlled doors and in automated swing doors.

If opening by handle from the inside, exit is needed, it is worth to use a fitting with handle on the inside. If both entry and exit are electronically controlled, handle on both sides is common. The lock can be electronically controlled by access control, timer, keypad or push button.
Fail locked operation, in case of blackout the lock is in a locked state. On an opening impulse the built-in motor retracts the bolt and at the same time the double-action cross latch is also released. After closing the door the bolt extends mechanically with the help of a spring, thus locking will be performed.
The door is always openable with the inside handle. Mechanically, by cylinder also.

These mortise locks can be used in exit, fire rated (EN) and automated doors too.
The motor lock connects with a separate control panel to the access control system (this usually is to be placed near the door). The control panel is included.
