U-shaped striking plates are mainly used in aluminium and plastic profiles.
These striking plates are fitted into the frame rebate, thus reducing the gap between the face plate of the mortise lock and the striking plate of the electric strike. This assures that the latch bolt extends fully into the electric strike.
